FAQ

  • What is Reformer Pilates?

Reformer Pilates is a dynamic, full body workout which focuses on control, breath work and strength. It is performed on a specialist machine consisting of springs, bars, straps and sliding carriage to provide adjustable resistance. It also provides assistance for beginners and increased resistance for advanced practitioners, making it suitable for all fitness levels, rehabilitation, and athletic training.

  • I have an injury, can I still do a Reformer class?

Depending on your injury and what stage of recovery you are in, you may still be able to enjoy Reformer Pilates! Our 1:1 sessions would be recommended so that our expert instructors can guide you through the movements whilst keeping you safe.

Please get in contact before booking any classes to discuss how we can best accommodate you - info@thecorestudio.uk

  • Can I do Reformer Pilates if I am pregnant?

Reformer Pilates can be a great way of reliving back pain and discomforts while pregnant, however, only instructors qualified in pre and post natal classes can help you with this.

If you are pregnant, please do not book onto a class before speaking to us. You may be turned away if you turn up to a class that isn’t suitable for you.

  • Who can do Reformer Pilates?

Reformer is suitable for almost everyone, regardless of age, fitness level or experience, the classes can be tailored to your needs!

  • What should I wear to your classes?

For a safe and comfortable class we recommend that you wear form fitting, flexible active wear that won’t get in the way of the machine. Reformer Pilates is done either bare foot or with grip socks for stability.

  • Do I need to bring anything with me?

The Core Studio will provide all equipment needed for the classes, however, if you wish to bring wrist/ankle weights or resistance bands you’re welcome to do so. Please bring water to stay hydrated. We do highly recommend Pilates grip socks.
